HUBCAP

HUBCAP

2025 - Personal Project

Overview

The HubCap is a communal pen-sharing device designed to promote sustainability and inclusivity in workplaces that rely on shared stationery. The design addresses a common frustration, pens frequently going missing, by integrating the pen caps into the hub. If a pen isn’t returned, it risks drying out, subtly encouraging users to replace it. A spring-loaded mechanism makes retrieving pens satisfying and intuitive, while the clean, neutral aesthetic ensures it fits seamlessly into any workplace. This project was developed in just 48 hours as part of the UTS Designathon 2025, where our team rapidly iterated from sketches to CAD models, CMF explorations, and user testing. The final concept celebrates collaboration by offering six easily accessible pens in a compact, engaging hub. I was primarily responsible for the product renders and animation, showcasing the HubCap’s functionality and visual appeal to effectively communicate the concept.
